ON THE ISSUES

Ensuring Safe Neighborhoods
for Our Families

The government’s foremost duty is to ensure the safety and security of its residents. As a dedicated husband and a father of two young children, my goal is to maintain Cedar Park’s neighborhood safety. With 14 years of experience as a peace officer in various roles—from patrol officer to lieutenant—I understand that a safe city is built on the foundation of well-trained first responders, accessible mental health and substance abuse treatment, robust family support services, partnerships with County and District attorneys, and a strong communication network between residents and law enforcement.

Creating Safer Streets and
Walkable Communities

Improving the safety of our streets and sidewalks is a top priority. I am committed to ensuring that the updated Cedar Park Transportation Criteria Manual leads to reduced speeding in neighborhoods, safer school zones, and crosswalks that encourage community interaction. As the co-founder of Cedar Park Strong, a local group advocating for safer roadways and enhanced walkability, I believe our streets should foster social connections, provide a safe environment for children, and prioritize safety over speed.

More Options for Housing and Ownership

I strongly support policies that introduce diverse housing options to meet our community's needs. Homeownership is a key component of the American Dream, and we must ensure that Cedar Park remains accessible for current and future residents. By promoting housing flexibility, we can prevent families from being priced out of our city, support young adults wishing to return close to family, and provide residences for those who contribute to our workforce.

I recognize that housing needs evolve with changing family and financial circumstances. My vision is to facilitate closer living arrangements among families and friends, assist seniors in transitioning to housing that meets their needs without relocating out of town, and offer options that reduce commuting times for our workforce. Redevelopment and mixed-use initiatives will allow residents to live, work, and enjoy leisure activities near home, reduce traffic, enhance wellness, and make efficient use of city resources.

Empowering Local Businesses

Growing up in a family of small business owners, I understand the pivotal role that businesses play in creating jobs, fostering community identity, and generating the tax base necessary to support our city. I am committed to making Cedar Park the premier destination for small businesses in Texas. By listening to local business needs, streamlining regulations, enhancing infrastructure, and supporting economic development initiatives, I will foster a thriving business environment.

Commitment to Fiscal Responsibility

Fiscal responsibility is essential for maintaining consistent city services without burdensome tax increases. As a strong advocate for taxpayers, I will ensure that our city budget reflects prudent financial decisions. A balanced budget and efficient use of public funds will cultivate wealth within our community and drive Cedar Park’s progress.

Enhancing Parks and Green Spaces

Cedar Park is enriched by its beautiful parks, trails, and green spaces. Having served on the Parks and Trails Foundation board, I am passionate about expanding recreational opportunities. I will work to improve access to local parks by optimizing existing streets for parking and enhancing sidewalks and shared pathways, which will maintain green spaces and ensure enjoyable experiences as residents travel to parks.

Advancing the Bell District Development

Residents have invested significantly in the Bell District over the past decade, and my family has enjoyed the benefits of living near this vibrant central gathering place. I am committed to ensuring the continued progress of this essential project, as having a thriving downtown area is vital for Cedar Park's unique identity and future.
